Description
Cornerstone Contracting, an Atlanta general contractor, was selected to transform a former college space into the advanced Veteran Affairs Telehealth & Eye Clinic. This design-build project, completed for Boxer Property, required careful planning and collaboration to meet the specific needs of the VA. The team worked closely with all stakeholders to develop a comprehensive space plan and budget, ensuring that every aspect of the clinic adhered to the highest standards of medical construction.
The project called for precise coordination to ensure that the clinic would provide a functional and modern healthcare environment. From day one, the team at Cornerstone managed the project efficiently, staying within budget and completing the work nearly a month ahead of schedule. The facility’s design incorporates a wide variety of specialized spaces, each tailored to the specific needs of medical care.
The Eye Clinic features 20 exam rooms, 5 procedure rooms, and specialized vision-impaired at-home training areas, alongside a fully equipped optical clinic. These spaces were meticulously planned to ensure that each room could support advanced medical equipment and provide optimal comfort for patients. The Telehealth Clinic includes 30 exam rooms, 5 educational classrooms, and 4 procedure rooms, reflecting the modern needs of healthcare delivery. The design also included reinforced walls to secure sensitive pharmacy and storage areas, ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.
Additionally, the facility underwent a complete HVAC system overhaul to ensure a controlled, comfortable environment suited for medical operations. The contemporary finishes used throughout the clinic not only enhance the facility’s aesthetic appeal but also maintain the highest standards of hygiene and functionality. The space was designed to be both welcoming and efficient, aligning with the goal of providing accessible, top-tier healthcare.
This project stands as a clear example of Cornerstone Contracting’s ability to manage complex, purpose-built medical buildouts.
