Description
As a leading Atlanta-area contractor, Cornerstone Contracting Group took on the challenge of transforming an existing office space in Duluth, Georgia, into a cutting-edge research and development manufacturing facility for Nichia, a global leader in LED technology. This project required a complete overhaul of the space to accommodate Nichia’s need for both high-tech office functions and advanced industrial manufacturing operations. The goal was to create an environment where innovation and efficiency intersect—one that would make Nichia’s products shine, both literally and figuratively.
The transformation began with extensive demolition to clear the way for a more optimized layout tailored to Nichia’s specific operational needs. Cornerstone’s industrial construction expertise was key in restructuring the space, with new partitions erected to delineate work zones, decorative finishes applied for a polished aesthetic, and significant ceiling modifications to enhance lighting and spatial flow. The facility also underwent critical infrastructure upgrades, including comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing enhancements, ensuring the space could support the rigorous demands of an advanced R&D and manufacturing environment.
Now fully revamped, the Duluth facility seamlessly integrates corporate and industrial functions. The office portion features well-appointed conference rooms, open collaborative workspaces, and a sleek, modern break room designed to enhance employee comfort and productivity. The heart of the project, however, lies in the high-tech manufacturing area and expansive warehouse, purpose-built to drive Nichia’s innovations in LED production. Custom blue epoxy flooring in the manufacturing zone not only adds a striking visual element but also provides a durable, high-performance surface suited for industrial use. Throughout the office and manufacturing areas, strategically placed LED lighting highlights Nichia’s industry-leading technology while reinforcing the company’s brand identity.
This state-of-the-art facility positions Nichia at the forefront of the LED industry, offering an environment that fosters technological advancement, precision engineering, and operational efficiency.
